The story of us..

My name is Jenn, his is Chris. We started 11 years ago. What brought us together? Lets go back to High School ya'll... I was a senior, retaking a class I failed sophomore year. Failed cause I was too busy talking to my best friend, passing notes, YEA we've all done that before! We didn't meet in class til after a mutual friend of ours decided to ask me out. My response, "I don't date" He took that as, Your not my type. So he asked "whats your type?" Again I said, "I don't date, I don't have a type!" This still was not good enough for the friend. So he asked, "Fine, what do you think is cute?" So I randomly pointed to the kid sitting in the back corner of the classroom and said, "See that kid, he's cute".. Friend finally shut up.

I THOUGHT that was the end of it, til the next time we had class. This boy ALWAYS sat in the back of the class was now sitting up front with this friend and myself. Odd, YES! totally... freak out like never before.... So we started talking, working together on different class assignments, the three of us. The subject of dogs came up. My favorite then was a pug. Go figure, his mom had a pug. Days went by, and I saw him in the hall way and he walks past me and says, I HAVE A PUG.. and walks away. After that I decided, okay this kid can have my number. Spring break was coming up and I really didn't wanna go all week without talking to him. He called, we hung out, he called some more, then I found out he had a girlfriend. She went to another school. Don't remember how he knew her, but I do know that thats not important. He wasn't happy. We went ice skating one night with my friends Kim and Amy. A few days later (3/13/00) he calls me... ALL EXCITED! he had broken up with the girlfriend, then it got weird. Long ackward silence................. and then I hear him say, will you be my girlfriend?

I really wanted to get through high school without dating, without the drama, without dealing with the crazy ex girlfriends... Here I was, months away from reaching my goal.... THIS KID WAS GOOD! I couldnt say no.. I just couldnt. With every fiber of my being I tried. I tried to say no, I tried to say lets just stay friends... but what came out was, YES! :)

Here I was, 18, and my first boyfriend was 15. YEA! Needless to say, his parents were not thrilled. I was nervous to have to meet them. But it wasnt as bad as I thought it was going to be. We dated, we went ice skating, we went to dinner.. we did whatever we wanted. We fought. We fought all the time. I graduated, He was still in school... I was working, so was he. We fought more. Dec of 2001 we broke up. Hardest thing I ever did. I had to tell him it wasn't working. We still spent christmas together. We still hung out for New Years. But after that, everything changed. He made sure I knew I was no longer his girlfriend. He even found someone else to go to prom with. The day after his prom, here I was, going to his house. I needed help with my radio in my car. He was fixing my radio and his phone rang. It was the new girlfriend. That conversation didn't go to well....for her. By the end of that day, Chris and I were back together. April 21, 2002.

We moved out together that following Aug. Chris had just turned 18. A few months later we got engaged. Shortly after that we found out I was pregnant. Many people wanted us to get pregnant before the baby, but we kept our original date. April 2, 2004. Ashton was 4 months old, he was our "best man". My neice Tracy was our "flower girl" and my sister was our witness. Clerk of courts office in Casselberry was all we needed. We didn't have a girls dream wedding. I didn't need or want one. I was content.....
